Woman Finds Neighbour in Bathroom

A North Carolina woman returned home after attending church services to find her neighbour lurking in her bathroom, in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad.

The man claimed that he was using the woman’s bathroom because his own was broken. He claimed the woman’s husband, who was ill and bed-ridden, had given him permission to enter.

The husband claimed he did not know anyone else was in the house and had no recollection of allowing the neighbor to come in.  Police found the kitchen door unlocked and prescription pain medications on the floor in the bathroom, leading them to believe the neighbor had broken in and was possibly stealing pain medication.

Ultimately, the man was charged with felony larceny and breaking and entering. It’s a good thing nobody was hurt during the break-in—both the woman and her bed-ridden husband were unharmed in the robbery attempt. Still, it’s terrifying to return home and find an intruder in the house—even if it’s someone you know. Maybe security systems for bathrooms will be the next big thing in home security. Or maybe the family should install better locks on the front door.
